Ha Full Disk 6th august
There was plenty of activity on wednesdays sun, with lots of bright white plage and filaments covering most of the disk. Some of these filaments were now on the limb in the form of prominences silhouetted against the blackness of space. Taken with the DS40 at 700mm fl with the DMK31.

South West Prominence 6th August
I must have imaged this prom in a moment of really good seeing as there is loads of detail in not just itself but also in the spicule ring. I've left it in black and white as this seems to show the detail better than the colour version. Taken with the 100mm PST mod at 2000mm focal length with the DMK31 camera.
North East Prom 6th August
This small and diffuse prom caught my eye on wednesday when I was scanning the suns limb using the 100mm PST mod.

Sunspot Genesis at 393nm - 6th August
As the skies cleared late on wednesday afternoon I took a quick look on the GONG website to see if anything of note was happening on our star that would give me something to train my scope onto; as luck would have it a very bright patch just on the eastern limb corresponded to an emerging flux region. I was witnessing a sunspot directly in the process of formation. The small dark umbra and penumbra are just about visible here as they emerge amongst the plasma that was jetting out. Just hours before the region was completely blank. I took the shot with the 40mm scope at 925mm focal length with then homebrew CaK filter and the DMK31 camera.
Departing Active Regions CaK 7th August
All the active regions that have been with us over the past week or so are now slowly but surely marching towards the suns western limb, as they do so also seem to be diminishing in activity, with no real flaring other than a few small c-class crackles to break the quiet. Taken with the 40mm scope at 925mm focal length with the DMK31 camera.
CaK Full Disk 6th August
The clouds finally cleared late on wednesday afternoon to give me a chance at some solar observing. First off was the CaK full disk taken with the 40mm at 700mm focal length with the DMK31 camera.
