Taken with the Coronado DS40 scope at f20 this 6 pane mosaic shows just how much was happening on our star today. The bright plage on the eastern limb surrounds numerous new active regions, However the proms were the feature that really stood out today, in particular the long needle prom in the southern hemisphere.
