Ha Full Disk 30th June

It was the first clear skies in 2 weeks today, and while conditions weren't perfect - poor seeing due to the heat and also high cloud, I was certainly not going to pass the opportunity by to dust off the scopes and see what our star had to offer. I decided to a large mosaic of the full disk in hydrogen alpha light at 656nm using the 70mm PST mod at f15. The resulting image is a mosaic of 14 panes taken with the DMK31 and assembled in photoshop CS4. Some haze meant it is not as even as I like, but given conditions i'm pleased with the result. The original image is huge and is well worth a look! Click here!!!
