Giant Filaments 4th August

This giant filament has sat on the Earth ward side of our sun for a week or so now, and is positively huge,  measuring nearly 400,000km in length.  If it makes it to the limb in a weeks time then it should form a great prominence, if it does not it will make for a great lift off event.  This shot was taken with the 100mm PST mod at 2000mm focal length with the DMK31 camera.
