Defying Convention - CaK full Disk 3rd may
This image shouldn't work for a number of reasons: first off the seeing was absolutely awful yesterday, the image was boiling all over the place, especially in Ha in particular (unusually!), secondly the sky had a very thick haze which normally has the effect of robbing CaK images of all contrast - although the proms are very difficult to see, thirdly the image was taken with a skywatcher 100mm f5 scope - these fast focal length instruments just are not the best option for imaging at short wavelengths. However as this shot shows it has come out not too bad! It will be interesting to try it on a day with good conditions to see what it is actually capable of... Stay tuned!
